New moon, new year, new start.

With tomorrow being the first new moon of 2011 I've decided to take a photo a day to learn to focus and hone my photography skills. I have a lovely new Nikon dSLR camera which I've used for the last 2 month taking photos of everything from friends birthdays to my girlfriends bellydance performances to landscapes whilst out on walks. I'm very snap happy just pointing and clicking away taking hundreds of photos and just leaving them on a harddrive where no one can see them. Thats the reason for this blog. So that I can learn to have some direction with my photography and in the process learn some new skills.

During this month I will look at various styles of photography with the view to taking one artistic photo, portrait or landscape a day. With that in mind I'll start with still life photography tomorrow.
