Day 5. January 8th 2011

So I did say I was going to take pictures of some mates doing something wacky but that didn't work out. So onto plan B something to do with reflection. My mind went blank so I did a little shout out on Facebook. Many thanks to those who gave me suggestions and ideas.

I took reflection to be quite literal for this image. I managed to convince the misses to pose for me, and I set up the camera on a tripod. I used my standard kit lens as that's got the widest field of view at 18mm and snapped a few test shots. I realised I needed a deep depth of focus so upped the iris to f9 which ment I needed a flash as things where a bit dark.

A few more snaps later I got this.

All I did with this was do the obvious photoshop effect, add a vignette and fiddle a little with the gamma curves to shift the reds a bit.

This next picture is an alternative version.

To be critical I really should have had the camera higher so that Laura filled the mirror more. And also the general composition is off slightly as I throw the rule of thirds in the bin, but hey I'm a rebel!
