Fire... I take you too burn.
I had this idea in my head for a few days now. It's nice to brew ideas and see what comes of them. I wanted to use a mirror and I asked Laura if we had any plate sized mirrors. And on the wall right behind her was the perfect mirror. A red fiery heart shaped mirror just the right size. Sometimes I really can't see for looking.
Simply some long exposure with a burning lighter on a mirror. I blew of the flame as the shutter on the camera was open to make the flames dance for me.
WARNING! Playing with fire is dangerous, always make sure you have supervision and suitable safety precautions in place. I had two cats on watch at all times and half a can of larger (with more in the fridge) reluctantly ready to dowse any unwelcome flames.
Randomly, is anyone on twitter? If so i'm at www.twitter.com/gordon_burns
I'll be honest I, again have failed in setting myself a goal for tomorrow. Let's see what the wind blows our way. Or maybe you guys have some suggestions?
Sweet dreams all.

Fiery Red Goodness! However I think you've missed your calling as a presenter of 1970's safety videos :) x
ReplyDeleteLol...2 cats and some larger lmao! Sounds like a comedy sketch more than a fire precautionary measure.
ReplyDeleteYou haven;t had a play around with water yet... always great for slow shutter speeds and a big dark filter on the front so as to not over expose the shot.
You could also try a speed shot too...get Laura to run as fast as possible (possibly many times until you get it right), with a standard shutter speed and you following with the camera to get a nice blurred background effect! Or you could just try photographying a toy car as it zooms across a table! or or or... (I'll let someone else have a go)
