Day 8. January 11th 2011

Macro photography is the art of taking photo's of the very small! The idea is to explore angles and views which are rarely seen with the naked eye. Now people can spend hundreds if not thousands of pounds on Macro lens', but not me. I simple spent £6 and got an adapter which linked two lens' together! I'll post a picture of the setup at the end.

The hair on the back of my little finger.

Wood grain.

The letter G on a penny (the one above the crown).

None of these pictures have been post processed as they aren't what I would call finished pieces you have merely followed me on a short journey to get some test shots as I experiment with a new technique.

It was a lot of fun looking at things at such close quarters and I'll definitely be looking at things a little closer in the future.

Tomorrow I'm going to document my journey into work in a series of "interesting" photo's! Looking forwards to it. I'm hoping they will not all be blurred in my rush to not be late!

Till tomorrow dear bloggers.
Gordon

For the setup I used my 55 - 200mm Zoom lens and my little 50mm portrait lens both amazing little lens' with their own uses and not too expensive to boot!

Here is the £6 little adapter ring.

Simple yet effective. Just like me!
