With another busy day I post this blog a bit later than usual. I didn't set my self a target yesterday, i think mostly out of tiredness. So I was thinking all day as to what to photograph. The more I thought about it, the more an idea eluded me. Many idea's throughout my day in the studio popped into my head and then popped out again before I could close the door and lock them inside my sponge like noggin.
But the idea of shapes came into my head again and I tried a few failed attempts to project images and shapes on a wall with my flash but doing it off the cuff without thinking or really setting things up, it all failed rather spectacularly. I have to admit I also thought of doing more cat pictures but as tiredness started to envelope me I couldn't think up a fresh way to portrait the cats which didn't resemble my last effort.
Finally I was sorting out my camera bag and I picked up my camera spirit level, which is designed for putting on a camera when trying to get the thing level (something I failed to use yesterday). A few quick snaps and a couple of colour adjustments later and voila; The Cube was born.
It looks a little like something out of the movie Tron, I haven't seen the new Legacy version yet so please no spoilers.
Tomorrow I will try something which uses long exposure. Which means I keep the shutter open long enough to catch the blurriness of motion in an image or maybe the crisp lines of headlights zooming by...
Laters alligators,
Gordon
As ever, I'm very impressed! Especially as I know how quickly you pulled this one out of the bag! :) x
